hello embarrassment my name is…

The following words are ones are ones I never imagined I would type. I mean never as in not in the thousand years of my existence. But here goes, I watched Dawson’s Creek and worse yet I…. well I like it.

Now before you classify me in the group of dumb blonds or kids who do nothing with their days beyond watching soaps and silly teen drama’s let me stop you, because I am not that person. Not by a long shot. Seriously. Its not me…at all.

So how did events turned out to see me watching this, well, very teen drama from the 90’s? Well I’m glad you asked.

Currently I am in foreign territory as I house sit for a foxy lady I know and I have read every book I brought with me, sang every song I could think to sing, and so off to the video store I went after an endless amount time of searching the stacks and coming up empty I closed my eyes and said “I will take home the next thing I touch”.
Now, thank havens it wasn’t a porno or the stock boy or something just as horrible. Some of you who are reading this (if there are any of you at all) will be thinking ‘oh yeah right’ or ‘how dumb do you think I am’, but girl scouts honor this is what happened...

I have found that the plot of the show is fairly basic; it captures the lives of four kids at the age of 15. They are confused, thinking about love, and sex for the first time, and they are sweaty, and lying , and are all around adolescent with developing hormones and emotions.

It sort of reminds me of the Wonder Years and how that show said to viewers ‘hey world, this is what it was like to be ten years old and in middle America in the 60’s remember when…’

I believe the reason I have watched four episodes and have yet to vomit, is because the show is really well written. Well no, that doesn’t fit, it is written as a child with the experience of a 30 year old, the dialogue is not all ‘I love him today because he is wearing blue and tomorrow when he has on black shoes instead of brown ones I will hate him’.

It is a semi intelligent show, and I that ladies and gents, is a quality I find attractive.

So now you have it,  enough material to embarrass me every day for the rest of my existence, it’s a good thing no one reads this silly old blog.
